Happy 2010
We’re off to a great year for PCG and an awesome Optional season! Thank you to everyone who participated in the annual Secret Santa gift exchange. The gymnasts loved it.

All the coaches were surprised, delighted and very thankful for their gifts and special hugs over the holiday. Your children are beautiful, talented and a great joy to work with. Thank you for allowing us the privilege of sharing time with them and watching them develop. ~PCG Coaches

Upcoming Meets
Hang 10.0 – Feb 27-29
Charleston Cup – Mar 4-7
Level 7-10 State Meet – Mar 19-21
Level 4 & 5 State Meets
We’re very proud of our Compulsory gymnasts. While the Level 3’s didn’t have a State Meet, they did have some great competitions, improving their scores each meet. All of our Level 4 & 5 gymnasts not only qualified for State Meet, they performed well and proved once again what great gymnasts we have at PCG! Megan Bahr, Rachel Brown, Kaitlyn Hallman, Alexandra Morris, Joanne Kaley & Jordan Murphy – Our Rising Stars! Congratulations girls – we’re very PROUD of you!
New Team Members
Although she’s actually been back nearly two months, we don’t want to overlook Shamonica’s hard work and desire to get back into the swing, flip and jump of things. We’re so glad to see her smiling face and hear her supportive chants again. Welcome back Shammy!
Please help us welcome our newest PCG member – Kieran Barry (parents: John & Barb). Kieran comes from Carolina Gymnastics where she just completed her Level 6 season. She is training with our Level 7 girls and hopes to be able to compete very soon.
Although our next team member won’t actually be arriving until late July, we do want to congratulate Coaches Tori and Candace on their new addition. “Baby” Lewis will certainly be a blessing and we can’t wait to see him/her. (That’s really a HER – Tori) :-]
Equipment Changes
While we have made a few changes to the layout of the team equipment, we’re working on obtaining some new mats, floor covering, etc. We hoped to install these items over the Christmas break, but haven’t found the carpet yet and plan to use the wood under the current floor to build a raised vault track. Therefore, we need to complete those changes all at the same time. Any parents willing to volunteer to help with the construction and reorganization, please contact Joe and he will definitely let you know when these changes are scheduled.
Back to School
Gone are the days of laying back, watching TV and playing video games… the teachers won’t be happy either! However, we should all be ready to get back to a regular schedule. Some of the girls have been staying up late and not eating very well. It sometimes tells in their practice. Extra sleep and regular meals can help their bodies get back on track. They did work very hard over the Christmas break, but the other activities also put a toll on their tired bodies. We hope everyone was able to enjoy their family time and delight in the magic of Christmas.
Coach Corrin
Unfortunately, due to personal family reasons, Coach Corrin will no longer be with us at PCG. Although we are sad to see her go-we pray for her and her family and wish her well. Our gym is in the process of obtaining a new full time coach. In the meantime, we appreciate everything our current coaching staff does to prepare the girls and wish them all a very successful 2010. Coaches Tori, Henna, Traci, LeAnna, Trish, and Candace are all very strong, capable and dedicated to helping our girls do their best. Thank you Coaches for all you do.
