Bring your kids to PORT CITY GYMNASTICS for the best New Year’s Eve fun…. for you and for them.  We will play games, watch a movie, eat dinner and sleepover, all while Mom & Dad are free for a night to celebrate!  Drop off at 6pm Saturday and pick up by 10am Sunday.  Start the new year off right - with happy kids and a great night for you.

Boys & Girls Home

bghnc_construction_logo_11Port City Gymnastics has selected the Lake Waccamaw Boys & Girls Home as our annual holiday charity this year.  We have a jar at the PCG Front Desk to collect donations and at the Level 5/6 State Meet (Dec 10-11 @ Topsail High School), we will be donating our portion of the 50/50 raffles to the Boys & Girls Home.  We will also have $$ jars in the lobby to collect financial donations, as well as donation boxes to collect school supplies for the children.  We hope you will join us in recognizing the blessings of the season.  This is an opportunity to GIVE to children that are less fortunate, but also a life-lesson for our gymnasts in being able to experience the joy of Christmas and helping others.

The Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina is dedicated to providing a comprehensive array of residential and community based services to meet the needs of vulnerable children by addressing their physical, emotional, social, educational and spiritual development.  You can find out more about this facility at: http://www.boysandgirlshomes.org/

Please help us make an impact by providing financial or school supply donations to these children.  We look forward to seeing each of you at the State Meet.  Thank you!

Remember our Veterans!

The Veterans Day National Ceremony is held on November 11th at Arlington National Cemetery. At 11:00 a.m., a color guard, made up of members from each of the military services, renders honors to America’s war dead during a tradition-rich ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns. Please be sure to talk to your children about the importance of Veterans Day and the sacrifices made by those that serve our great nation. Veterans Day honors all service men and women that have served during war and peace time.

REMINDER: All area schools will be closed on this holiday!  We will provide all-day care (8am-6pm).  Contact Allisen (allisenpcg1@bellsouth.net or 910-793-1921) if you would like to reserve a spot for your child.

Summer Ends

sponsor-2We all love summer, but unfortunately it does have to end.  This is our last week of summer camps.  The kids are getting a little anxious and very excited about starting school next week.  A new grade, new teachers, new friends, and a new school for some.  Be mindful of the changes that will occur for your child.  We all know what it feels like to start a new job - same thing for them.  Give them a fresh start each morning, by returning to the school-year bedtime schedule this week.  Help them get used to the routine and they’ll feel more in control and less anxious for the new school year.
Enjoy the last free days of summer at the beach!  Surf’s up!
